Here’s a tip for all couples who want to relax and be by the sea, a lighthouse dating back to 1874 is looking for a new caretaker. This lighthouse is situated on the island known as East Brother in the San Francisco bay in California. In this idyllic area in one of the most beautiful towns in the world, one lucky couple could win the lottery if they get the job to look after this undeniably charming place and they will be paid a pretty penny to do so as well.

The proposed salary is 130,000$ per year, working out at 5,400$ per month for each of the two lovebirds. The current caretakers Che Rodgers and Jillian Meeker, are going to leave their positions vacant until sometime before April so that they have time to comb through all the candidates for the position.

A lighthouse, but above all a guesthouse

But why such a high salary for just watching a lighthouse? Don’t worry, you’re not going to be left doing nothing all day, since this lighthouse also functions as a guesthouse for lots of visitors. There are five bedrooms in the lighthouse, and it is open four days a week. The East Brother Light Station explained more about the post and the tasks that the lucky couple will have to undertake to the San Francisco Chronicle.

‘They will operate the five-room inn, serving both dinner and breakfast, as well as providing ferry services for guests and all other tasks from chef to maid.’
