Vladimir Putin’s ‘toxic masculinity’ is to blame for the war, according to this world leader

Boris Johnson attended the G7 summit in Bavaria. After the meeting, the British Prime Minister gave an interview with ZDF, a German broadcaster. During the interview, he gave an insight as to why he believes Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

‘Toxic masculinity’

As reported by the BBC, Boris Johnson was interviewed by ZDF. During this interview, Johnson talked about gender inequality. He believes that there should be ‘more women in positions of power’ adding that the fact that Putin is a man could be a reason why he invaded Ukraine:

If Putin was a woman, which he obviously isn't, but if he were, I really don't think he would've embarked on a crazy, macho war of invasion and violence in the way that he has

The British Prime Minister then talks about Putin’s ‘toxic masculinity’ saying that his invasion of Ukraine is the ‘perfect example’.

Putin’s a ‘macho’

Earlier this week, Boris Johnson joked about Putin being a macho man during a roundtable discussion with other G7 leaders.

According to the BBC, Johnson mocked the Russian President and his ‘macho portrayal’. Johnson told the other leaders to ‘show them our pecs’ to prove ‘we're tougher than Putin’.
