Russian state TV host makes outrageous claim about what Brits are eating amid food shortage in UK

Russian state TV host and propagandist Olga Skabeyeva has made a bizarre claim about the food shortage in the UK.

Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko, shared a clip of Russian state TV channel Rossiya-1's program 60 Minutes on Twitter with English subtitles. In the clip,host Skabeyeva claimed that some restaurants in the UK are now serving squirrels amid the food shortage in the country:

Today it was revealed that some restaurants in once-Great Britain will be serving squirrels.

In view of the fact that there are plenty of animals in the parks, so why not eat them, bearing in mind the food shortage.

She then seemed to suggest that Britons have to eat squirrels because the UK is spending all its money on providing weapons to Ukraine:

But they are not backing down from the decision to help Zelenskyi, to supply weapons.

That is, they will eat squirrels, but still supply howitzers.

Skabeyeva is such a well-known mouthpiece for the Kremlin her nicknames include 'propagandist-in-chief', Russian state TV's 'special operation forces', and the 'iron doll of Putin TV'.

Vasily Gatov, a Russian media researcher and visiting fellow at the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership and Policy, has described her as a 'monster' and a 'chauvinistic, patriotic, pro-government, non-critical, clearly scandalous' figure.

Other bizarre claims made on Russian state TV

In the past, Skabeyeva declared that the Queen's funeral would have been the perfect time for a nuclear strike on the UK.

In another especially bizarre report about gay marriage in the UK and France, Skabeyeva falsely told viewers that 40% of children raised by same-sex couples 'have venereal diseases'.

She's certainly not the only Russian state TV commentator to make such outrageous remarks.

Kremlin loyalist and propagandist Margarita Simonyan once declared that 'Americans know only one type of physical love' and 'it's called BDSM'. She continued:

This is the only way America knows: only sadism, only tying up and gagging, go ahead and suffer through it, so to speak.
