Ukraine suffering from 'megalomania'
According to state media Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Saturday 1 April, Kim Yo-jong said:
The Ukrainian authorities, seized with the incurable megalomania that [they] can defeat Russia, are incurring a nuclear disaster threatening their existence.
Last week, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia will place tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus near its borders with NATO countries. As a result, a public petition was posted to the Ukrainian presidential office's website on Thursday 30 March, urging Ukraine to keep nuclear weapons on its territory, or for it to be armed with its own nuclear weapons.

Zelenskyy has 'dangerous political ambition'
Despite this, Kim Yo-jong described the petition as 'a product of the Zelenskyy authorities' sinister political plot'. She continued:
Zelenskyy's talk about introducing US nuclear weapons and developing their own is a manifestation of his very dangerous political ambition to prolong his remaining days at any cost by gambling with the destiny of his country and people.More under this adMore under this ad
However, she did not offer any evidence to support this claim.
It comes as North Korea and Russia are strengthening their relationship after both being isolated by the West. The hermit kingdom supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine, including its proclaimed annexation of parts of Ukraine that the majority of UN members deemed illegal. However, North Korea has denied supplying weapons to Russia.
