Doctors decided that the couple should self-isolate at home and avoid contact with the outside world so as to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.
Weeks later, and although her husband had considerably improved and recovered, Darlene started to relapse when she thought she had overcome the virus. She began to notice that she couldn’t walk properly, couldn’t sit and couldn’t even hold objects with her hands.
More under this adMore under this adSeeing that her condition was deteriorating, she contacted her doctor via video call who advised her to go to the ER. After carrying out several tests, specialists discovered something rather unusual.
Darlene had actually had two strokes without even realising it as a result of blood clots in her brain that had formed when she had the coronavirus.
