Ivanka Trump’s return to politics could be on the cards as Donald Trump is expected to not just run but win the US elections again. Here’s what we know about Ivanka’s potential return to US politics.

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner became senior advisers to Donald Trump’s presidential administration during his previous office term from January 2017 to 2021. Ivanka was initially the executive vice president of the Trump Organisation and later served as the head of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship. It was understood that Ivanka and Melania also had disputes over the First Lady's duties. The 42-year-old also spoke about women’s rights and their place in the economy.

However, when Trump’s term ended in 2021, Ivanka and Jared became the talk of political commentators and society reporters, confirms Forbes. The two were left with damaged reputations and proximity to scandal. Ivanka slowly distanced herself from her father’s political machine and eventually announced that she would not rejoin Trump’s 2024 campaign - which is currently facing many struggles due to Stormy Daniel’s hush money trial.

Is Ivanka Trump returning to politics with the Trump organisation?

Trump’s current 2024 campaign is not going as he planned not just because of his own trials but also considering he still hasn't picked a running mate. Kristi Noem's name was briefly mentioned she later admitted to killing her dog. Despite struggles, it is expected that Trump might become President Trump again this year. R. Couri Hay, a society publicist and longtime acquaintance of the Trump family, told Business Insider:

It's becoming more of a reality that President Trump could be president again.

Amidst this, it is believed that if Trump returns to the White House, Ivanka may join him too. Friends and acquaintances of former President Donald Trump's eldest daughter believe that as his political influence surges, Ivanka’s interest in returning might surge equally. This comes after Ivanka and her husband previously confirmed they are done with US politics and would like to live a quiet and peaceful life away from it.

The couple did not return to New York after Trump’s term ended in 2021. Instead, they moved to a $30 million home in a gated community near Miami dubbed ‘billionaire bunker.’ In a recent comment on their potential comeback, their spokesperson shared:

As they've both repeatedly stated, Ivanka and Jared continue to focus on their family and lives in the private sector and do not intend to go back to politics.

But it looks like Ivanka believes in ‘never say never.’ Trump’s current wife Melania had also previously washed her hands off politics but she’s now been seen with him on multiple occasions. Hay analysed:

She is gracious, mingling. My understanding is that privately she's saying she's ready to be first lady again if called.
Then why are we so shocked and surprised that Ivanka could, too, feel the call of the siren? Despite the rocks on the shore, the call is very strong.

According to a source close to Ivanka, the Trump child is ‘warming to the idea of trying to be helpful’ to another Trump administration. It is claimed that Ivanka is ‘privately not ruling out having some sort of role’ in the White House if her father is elected again. The anonymous source shared:

She's not like 'Hell no' anymore.

The source also added that while a ‘full-fledged return to politics’ may not be on the cards for now, she has definitely ‘softened her hardline stance on avoiding politics in the future.’ They hinted that she’ll likely be visible at the upcoming Republican convention when the family is trotted out in support of Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.

One of the major things that Ivanka has in her mind is her personal brand. Previously she faced harsh criticism from celebrities and was socially shunned for her role in her father’s White House. Despite the reputational and financial hit from last time, Ivanka has slowly returned to her high-profile socialising with the world's elites alongside her husband. Regardless, it’s not an easy decision for Ivanka to make. She is more likely to take a more deliberate lower-key approach than before.

Despite having a comfortable life away from the limelight, Ivanka may want to return to politics as she enjoys the perks of her father’s political career like letting his super PAC cover her legal bills. According to Intelligencer, Donald Trump’s Save America PAC spent a total of $2.3 million last year for two law firms that solely represented Ivanka. Another record found that the PAC spent another $5.3 million on a law firm that represented Ivanka along with her father, her brothers Don Jr. and Eric, and the Trump Organization.

What is Ivanka Trump doing now?

After keeping her promise of staying away from politics, Ivanka stayed focused on the community she's built in Miami. According to People Magazine, she is often photographed with her husband and children — Arabella, Joseph and Theodore — in the area. Ivanka and Jared are also seen attending dinners with friends and working out at area gyms.

She and her family also volunteer with local organisations during their free time, including a Miami food bank and a nonprofit that builds programs for children with special needs. Between work and parenting duties, Ivanka has had more opportunities to travel, posting photos from star-studded events and international vacations with family at her side. As compared to her day-to-day schedule during Trump’s term, Ivanka’s schedule right now is far different. She was previously often involved in rallies and campaign appearances.

A source in Ivanka’s social circle told the publication that she may not wish to return to politics. The source said:

She is very happy, living her best life. She left politics totally in the rearview mirror and so this time around, even if her dad is the leading Republican candidate, she basically doesn't care.

She told him when he said he was going to run again that she didn't want to be involved.

Ivanka and her husband Jared have bought multiple properties in Florida and launched the Abraham Accords Caucus in October 2021. Business Insider revealed they also added a $24 million mansion in Indian Creek Village to their Florida real-estate profile.
