Henry Kissinger offers to be 'adviser' in Russia-Ukraine peace talks despite being nearly 100-years-old

Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger has expressed his belief that the Russia-Ukraine war is 'coming to a turning point', as reported by CBS News. He also believes peace negotiations will take place by the end of 2023 thanks to China’s recent involvement.

Kissinger made the comments during a special segment by CBS News dedicated to the former diplomat, who will turn 100-years-old on 27 May. Despite this, Kissinger is skeptical about US President Joe Biden running for President for a second term. He said:

Peace talks by the end of 2023
On Sunday 7 May, in an interview with CBS News' Ted Koppel, Kissinger seemed confident that China could alter the course of the ongoing war. He said:

Kissinger also told Koppel that he thinks both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping would talk to him if he called them.

I would be inclined to do it, yes. But I would be an adviser, not an active person.

Potential war between US and China
Elsewhere in the interview, Kissinger warned again about the possibility of war breaking out between the US and China. He said this in light of the fact that China seems ready to invade Taiwan, and President Biden said that the US would defend Taiwan. Kissinger said:
