More under this adMore under this adJohn Place, 42, has been hospitalized for 3 weeks now after his son decided to gather with friends, despite his stepmother asking him not to. They were extra cautious when it came to the virus in their household due to John being overweight and diabetic.
After their 21-year-old son went out with his friends, he unknowingly contracted the virus and ended up infecting his entire family including his stepmother, brother, half-sister and father. Originally he thought it was just a common cold and took over the counter medicine. Even after he was told that one of his friends tested positive for the virus, he still did not believe that he had it.

Michelle Zymet, Place's wife, spoke to the media regarding her son's actions:
