The funds come from the Household Support Fund (HSF) - a large pot of cash worth £842 million - and are distributed through the councils that decide who gets them and how much.
The financial boost depends on the number of children in the household. Find out if yours is eligible.

A cash boost worth £94 can land in your account in a matter of days
HSF is a Government scheme that was first launched in October 2021 to help struggling householdscope with rising prices in the aftermaths of the Covid-19 pandemic and later on - the cost of living crisis.

While some local authorities offer food and energy vouchers, others make bank transfers directly to the accounts of those in need.

Here is who is eligible for financial support
To receive the much-needed cash you need to make a direct application.
The eligibility criteria include having children aged 16 and under, being a resident of Walsall, suffering from financial hardship, not receiving adequate support through another government scheme and being responsible for rent, mortgage, gas, electric or water bills.
Combined household capital shouldn’t exceed £6,000 for those who apply while a total yearly income has to be under £25,000 gross for a single claimant or £30,000 gross for the joint ones.

Those interested and eligible will need to register and create an account on the Government's website in order to make an application.

The local authority can also dip their hand in Walsall's Local Welfare Provision Scheme for those who struggle most.
