Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to these essential rights that all women possess from birth.More under this adMore under this ad
Melania’s view on abortion is drastically different from her husband’s, who played a part in overturning Roe v Wade. However, as per The Hill, the former President told his wife to ‘write what you believe in’ when it comes to her memoir and her stance on abortion.

We spoke about it. And I said, you have to write what you believe. I’m not going to tell what you to do. You have to write what you believe. But I said you have to stick with your heart. I’ve said that to everybody, you have to go with your heart.
According to some experts, Melania Trump’s memoir is a carefully planned tactic to sway citizens to vote for Donald, but others believe it may backfire completely.

Some experts have suggested that Melania Trump sharing her stance on abortion is a tactic to get more women to vote for her husband as some women voters have been ‘put off’ by Donald’s views on women’s rights.
Christopher Galdieri, professor of politics at Saint Anselm told The Telegraph:
The timing of this coming out a month before the election forces attention not just on what Trump has done in those areas, but on the idea that there’s this moderating influence.More under this adMore under this ad
On the other hand, Katherine Jellison, a professor of history at Ohio University believes that Melania’s view may put off those who were going to vote for Trump as many of his supporters are pro-life.
The votes I might see being swayed are people who might be mad that one of the Trumps is pro-choice, and say, ‘well, then I’m not voting for him after all, and just stay home’.More under this adMore under this ad
Despite these speculations, professor Jellison doesn’t believe Melania’s memoir is a political tool but a way for her to show who she is as a person and what she stands for:
She’s trying to establish herself as her own person, regardless of however the election goes... think this is about getting more control of her own image.More under this adMore under this ad
