Covid: Unvaxxed pregnant woman suffers three strokes and a heart attack caused by virus

A woman who could not be bothered to get vaccinated, is now encouraging people to get jabbed after she had a near-death Covid complication when she was pregnant. She spent months on life support, and suffered three strokes and a heart attack.

‘Why risk it?’

When she was around 18 months pregnant, Diana Crouch, from Texas took ill but dismissed as pregnancy-related. According to Today, she was sent to the emergency ward after she developed a low-grade fever.

Crouch, 28, was later diagnosed with Covid pneumonia and would go on to spend close to 140 days in the hospital. A significant part of her hospitalization was spent on ECMO, a last-resort life-support machine that acts as an external heart and lungs for the body.

Crouch told the Texas Tribune she did not find it necessary to get vaccinated against Covid-19 because she had earlier caught and recovered from the virus

I just didn't want to risk it. I was like, we have an immune system for this, and I don't want to do anything that might affect my baby.

Lucky to be alive

Crouch’s partner, Chris, with whom she already had four children, had to give the greenlight for her to be put on ECMO as a last resort. He recalled feeling like he could lose both his partner and baby. He was speaking to the Texas Tribune:

I may go home without anything. With a dead baby and a dead wife … there were some really dark days.

Eventually, doctors had to perform a C-section on Crouch to deliver her son, Cameron - named after the doctor who attended to her. She said she had zero recollection of the birth of her son, who spent the first month of his life in the hospital.

She believes if she had got vaccinated, the virus would not have hit her as hard as it did.

After all I went through, the least of your worries should be the vaccine. I put my baby through all this as well.
