Indeed it is reported that over the month of August, there have been almost 93,000 new infections per day, compared to the 50,000 the month before. What does this mean for the UK?

As reported by Mirror, the ZOE health app revealed that on September 1, there were a total of 92,965 new Covid-19 cases in the UK. The ZOE health app collects data given by its estimated 1.5 million users in the UK.
Experts believe that cases will continue to rise as now that September is here, many will be returning to school and work after the summer break. The Pirola variant is the latest mutation to hit the country, with only currently 4 reported cases.

Experts have warned of a ‘challenging winter’
As the colder months are coming our way, health experts have warned of a ‘challenging winter’ but only if the new variants are deemed more infectious than previous strains.
More under this adMore under this adAs reported by Mirror, as of now, the Pirola strain is not being treated as a ‘variant of concern’ and officials have decided to bring forward the Covid-19 and flu vaccination program this year.
The vaccination program will start on September 11. Chief Executive of the UKHSA, Dame Jenny Harries said:
