The loophole was discovered by security experts at antivirus firm, Avast. Some industry watchers believe that this is the seventh zero-day exploit patched by Google this year. This is far less than the 58 bugs reported last year with the last one being in July when the Chrome dev team patched CVE-2022-2294, being used to target journalists in the Middle East, specifically Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, and Yemen.
To make sure your Chrome browser is up-to-date, you should go to Settings and then About Chrome. You will need to relaunch Chrome for the changes to take full effect.
