A twist of fate
In May this year, Sian spotted a Mirror article advertising a gorgeous rescue dog who desperately needed a forever home. The pooch was a six-year-old Dogue de Bordeaux called Remi, exactly like her own pet. Though Sian fell in love with her instantly, she knew the two dogs couldn’t live together.

With a ‘dog-shaped hole in her heart’ the devastated woman reached out to Helping Yorkshire Poundies to offer Remi a forever home, Mirror writes.
She said:

A tragic diagnosis
Sian spoke to her family and agreed to adopt the pooch. She was looking forward to giving her a forever home. But then the heartbreaking diagnosis came.

Most potential adopters are put-off by pets’ health complications, but not Sian. The grieving woman was prepared to have her heart shuttered once again to give love and care to Remi for the remainder of the poorly dog’s life.
Sian said:
It didn't put us off and we decided to bring her into our home, hearts and family.More under this adMore under this ad
‘She’s such a special girl’
Remi settled in well in her new home and despite the terrifying diagnosis, doesn't have symptoms. Treatment with steroids helps to keep her lymph nodes under control.

According to Sian, Remi is a gentle and happy dog who loves sleeping and snuggling up on the sofa.
