This five-legged lamb leaves animal enthusiasts 'speechless'

A lamb born with a very unusual disability has joined the ranks of a popular tourist attraction. The staff at Whitehouse Farm in Morpeth, Northumberland, have welcomed a young lamb with an additional limb.

Rarest of rare sights
Five-legged lambs are extremely rare, with just one in a million thought to have them. Only the second five-legged lamb has been born in the UK, thanks to a new arrival during lambing season. Heather Hogarty, a co-owner, claimed the additional limb was visible as soon as it was delivered. Heather told ChronicleLive:

The unnamed lamb was born in a group of triplets on February 22—or 02/22/22—by chance.

The unusual location
Whitehouse Farm Centre, a 40-acre family-run business opened to the public and school groups in 1997. Quinto, another Whitehouse Farm lamb born with five legs, was born almost a decade before this five-legged lamb. Quinto's additional limb was in the middle of her body and had to be removed ultimately, but she lived a long life and even produced her own lambs. Heather added:
We had one nine years ago but that leg was right in the centre of her stomach while this one comes out the shoulder and doesn't reach the ground.More under this adMore under this ad
Whitehouse Farm Centre is located south of Morpeth and barely a mile off the A1. It is a wonderful place for families, schools, and groups of all ages to come and see, handle and feed a broad range of animals ranging from traditional breeds to more rare and exotic species.
