Reducing the number of abandoned pets
The summer of 2018 was one of the worst summer periods for abandoning animals for all charity organisations combined. The number of cats, dogs, rodents, birds and other pets abandoned was at a terrible record high.
More under this adMore under this adHowever, in the wake of Christmas, the same sad scenario is likely to repeat itself: some families are going to give pets as presents. An animal that, in many cases, will end up in a shelter or on the side of a motorway within a few months.
Raising awareness
So, to avoid this regrettable chain of events from happening again, an animal shelter in Marseille decided to fight back, by directly publishing the worst excuses they have ever heard to justify abandoning a pet on their Facebook page.
