The ‘golden oldie’

Mr Morris, a handsome moustached mix-breed, was originally brought over from Romania. Sadly, at the senior age of ten years, he ended up in a shelter.

Cheryl Gibson, the owner of Shropshire Canine Enrichment, said the pup had limited vision which meant he required more tender loving care than an average dog.

The charity believed Mr Morris could see ‘a little bit’, but not much, and was desperate to rehome him with the right humans.

A loving home at last

When Ann Modi saw a video posted by Shropshire Canine Enrichment late one night, she knew instantly that Mr Morris was for her. She phoned Hilbrae Rescue Kennels the very next morning.

In no time, the senior pup was on the way to his new home, where he is now being ‘spoiled rotten’.

Modi admitted that the pooch has become a celebrity too.

She explained:

I popped into Newport indoor market to buy some bits for him, chatting to the man who owns the pet store and said I was having a dog from Hilbrae. He said: 'not Mr Morris?' I said yes and he gave me a hug and a bag of treats for Mr Morris! He said he couldn't wait to go home and tell his wife Mr Morris has a home.
