A pet blood bank located in Texas, United States was locking greyhounds in wired cages and exploiting them for blood.

The organisation, The Pet Blood Bank, was created to help supply blood for animals who needed blood transfusions. Although this was for a good cause, the donor dogs experienced horrible living conditions. In total, approximately 150 greyhounds were caged and treated poorly.

The greyhounds were kept in small wired cages and spent hours digging holes in the dirt. Some of the dogs were suffering from physical issues like untreated wounds, ticks, limited food, and tooth decay. During the investigation, officials also found two dead greyhounds.
