Having a dog put down is sometimes incredibly distressing for dog owners and animal shelters. The owners often feel a sense of guilt, but your four-legged friend can’t always be saved or treated at the last moment. Sometimes, the situation can however be completely different.

The puppy was supposed to have a tragic ending
The Kings Harvest Pets Rescue No-Kill Shelter, located in Davenport, Iowa (USA), is well-known for not putting animals to sleep. They find all their animals a forever home, so they can keep living. But that’s not the case everywhere.
More under this adMore under this adIn lots of animal shelters, the people who work there do put animals down when there’s not enough room for them all. This is what happened with Rudolph.
A vet gave the puppy that was only a few months old an injection that would end its life forever.
Then a miracle happened!
But not everything went as planned. Surprisingly, Rudolph woke up again! The Kings Harvest Pets Rescue No-Kill Shelter who shared Rudolph's story said in a Facebook post:
More under this adMore under this adRudolph is 7 to 8 months old. He has quite the story. He was at shelter that was full so the vet euthanized him. But God had a different plan because he woke up. And thank goodness the vet said he wouldn’t do it again.
It was a sign. The drugs didn’t have any effect on him, and the Kings Harvest Pets Rescue No-Kill animal shelter then decided to accept the dog into their care. They added:
More under this adMore under this adSo we brought him to our shelter in hopes somebody would come adopt him and give him a second chance at life. If you’re interested in this adorable young man stop by and meet him we’re open 10 to 5 every day except Sundays and Thursdays.
There, he had a permanent place to stay without having to worry about being put down again. A true miracle!
We don't know what has happened to Rudolph or if he was ever adopted, but we sure hope he was able to find a forever home.
