Maintaining the auditory organs of felines, but also of any domestic animal such as a dog, is essential. If you see earwax or dirt in your pet's ear canal, always remember to clean it. Be careful not to over-clean, as this can irritate your kitten's fragile skin. Ideally, you should clean your cat's ear every two weeks or so.
Here's what your cat might suffer from if you don't clean her ears regularly enough:
- Tumour
- Bacterial infection
- Inflammation of the inner ear canal
- Fungus
- Loss of hearing
- Total deafness
Remember to never use cotton buds! These can damage the eardrum or push the dirt deeper into the ear canal.
How to wipe your pet's ears properly?
A cat's ear is a very sensitive area. You shouldn't clean it with just any product, as this can damage your pet's hearing and irritate its skin. The best thing to do in this case is to seek professional advice, who will recommend an ear cleaning product that is suitable for animals.

Massage for a few seconds to distribute the product throughout the ear canal. Next, pour the solution onto your cotton or wool, handkerchief or compress, and then gently rub all the corners of your little cat's ear. Finally, don't forget to dry the ears with a clean, dry cotton pad, leaving no wet areas.
