Found with horrific burns
French Bulldog Bruce was found shivering in a bush near a park in Preston, Lancashire, England. The eight-year-old pup was distressed and in pain from horrific burns on his back.

The examination showed that the burns had occurred two to three weeks earlier. It meant that Bruce must have been in extreme pain the entire time the wounds were left untreated.
The charity launched an investigation to locate the pup’s cruel owner. The enquiry is ongoing.
'His fur is now growing again'
RSPCA Preston Branch administrator Tanya Barrett said that upon arrival to the rescue Bruce had to be sedated, so the vets could clip his fur and clean his extensive and infected wounds. The pup had scar tissue removed from his back as his fur was not growing in the injured area, meaning it could easily get scratched or sunburned, Express.co.uk writes. Bruce was also given pain relief and tablets to combat the infection and had cream applied to his wounds daily.

The vet said that the infection suggested the wounds were about two to three weeks old - so he must have been suffering horrendously during that time.
Thanks to the treatments financed by the RSPCA, Bruce’s fur is now growing back.
From foster care to forever home
After spending three months in the RSPCA's care, Bruce was offered a foster home with a lovely local couple. But naturally, they couldn’t resist the charms of this sweet bulldog and offered him a forever family.

We never thought for a moment we would adopt the first dog we fostered - but we just fell for him. Despite his history, Bruce is so loving and trusting of all people. He is always eager to greet new people and get strokes and cuddles.More under this adMore under this ad
