An unprovoked attack
The 27-year-old animal lover, who asked not to be named, was walking her 'soft' family dog during the morning hours when an American XL bulldog suddenly attacked them.

It was so scary and came from nowhere really. It locked its jaws onto my dog and was going for his neck. He was protecting his neck with his shoulder and suffered some nasty injuries.
According to the woman, she tried to release her pooch from a deadly grip and was also bitten on the hand.
The brave owner added:
I had blood all over me, mine and my dogs.More under this adMore under this ad
She believes that her dog, who weighs 34 kg, is only alive thanks to its size and would die ‘if he was a smaller dog’.
Aftermaths of the attack
More under this adMore under this adThe traumatised pup had to be rushed to the vet and kept in the clinic overnight. The vet told the owner the dog ‘was lucky to be alive’. The puncture wounds and bite marks on the pet’s shoulder are so deep that the specialists couldn’t yet make my conclusions. They will require further assessments and vet visits.
The fur kid’s mum said:
He's certainly very, very sad and is feeling sorry for himself.More under this adMore under this ad
The owner herself suffered ‘a deep bite mark’ on her knuckle in an attempt to set her pooch free. She is currently ‘on antibiotics and had to have a tetanus jab’.

This was a big, strong, violent and out-of-control dog. We won't be going over to the field again.
Judging by the pictures, the fur victim's injuries are extensive. He was wounds on his shoulder, right front leg, side, cheek and inner leg, and bad tissue damage around the neck. More will be known once his wounds have started to heal.

Dog attacks became more frequent
Sadly, more and more people and animals become victims of dog attacks. Just last month five American bulldogs were put down after they mauled a woman in her home in Merseyside, England. Before that, an American Bully XL turned on its owners in South Yorkshire, resulting in death and life-changing injuries. A 17-month-old toddler was mauled by a dog of the same breed in her home in Merseyside, and a schoolboy died after being bitten at a friend's home in Caerphilly, Wales. Kennel owner Adam Watts, who dedicated his life to saving dogs and campaigning for their welfare, was also killed by an American Bully XL last year.
