Dark chocolate helps you sleep better

There are some foods you absolutely want to avoid in the evening before going to bed. Let's be clear: dark chocolate is not one of them. Just like pistachios. Better still, it's advisable to eat a few squares (not the whole bar, mind you) after dinner. Packed with tryptophan and magnesium, which stimulate the production of serotonin (the neurotransmitter involved in the secretion of melatonin, aka the sleep hormone), it makes it easier to fall asleep and thus promotes restful sleep.

Dark chocolate improves physical fitness

Potassium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, and sodium are all minerals contained in dark chocolate that make it a powerful stimulant. The most beneficial? Magnesium (again) which is particularly helpful in the fight against cramps. So before or after a short jog, it's never a bad idea!
