McDonald’s customer finds horrifying ‘crunchy’ surprise inside her wrap

Imagine ordering from your favourite fast-food restaurant, and taking a bite of your menu item, only to end up with a mouthful of unexpected slimy surprise inside your food. Though this thought seems too horrific to entertain, something on those lines happened to a mum who brought a chicken wrap at McDonald’s.

As reported by The Irish Sun, a McDonald’s customer Shelby Forrester got the most unexpected surprise of her life when she bit into a chicken wrap she brought at McDonald’s only to find something ‘crunchy’ inside.

The ‘crunchy’ surprise’

When Forrester mustered up the courage to inspect what was inside the food, it was so disgusting that she did not want to believe it. What she discovered was so disgusting that the traumatised diner has vowed to never go back to McDonald’s again.

She also made her fellow-diner inspect it, and confirmed that wedged in the middle of her chicken wrap, was a snail. She recounts her ordeal as follows,

I got literally two or three bites from the bottom and felt a crunch in my mouth. I was expecting it to be a piece of chicken.

I spat it out and I was in silence for about ten minutes. My partner asked what was wrong with me so I asked him to have a look at the wrap and clarify what it was because I was absolutely mortified at it.

He said 'that's a snail' and I said 'I know'. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know whether to run to the sink and throw up or be angry.

McDonald’s reaction

The horrified couple binned the food and immediately called McDonald’s to complain. The restaurant offered them a free meal, which they refused. The shocked customer says that she would like better compensation for having a snail in her mouth.

McDonald’s has informed the couple that the snail would be tested in the laboratory and apologised to the customers. A McDonald’s spokesperson is quoted as saying,

Food quality is of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections.

When the customer brought this matter to the attention of our restaurant team we immediately apologised and offered a full refund. Our Customer Services team has also been in contact with the customer to offer our apologies and help find a resolution.
