The chef then proceeds to show the tricks he employs, the most surprising among them is the use of chicken stock cube, which costs only about 7p, but makes a world of difference to the roast potatoes' texture.

Here’s how the chef makes his roast potatoes.
- Peel your potatoes and put them to parboil, adding in salt and bicarbonate soda.
- Meanwhile, take the chicken stock cube and combine it with oil.
- Put fat on your baking tray and let it get hot in the oven
- Once the oil is hot, place the parboiled potatoes on the tray. Add in garlic, rosemary and thyme
- Then add the oil and chicken stock mix
- Add salt, combine everything well, and roast in the oven for 25 minutes
- Turn the potatoes and then roast for 5 more minutes
