What is a butter board?

While everyone knows what a cheese board is, butter board is a relatively new concept in popular food vocabulary. It is basically a board where soft butter gets laid out beautifully, and decorated with salt, lemon, edible flowers, herbs or whatever toppings you fancy.

These are the steps she mentions in her video:

• Swirl softened, unsalted butter on a wooden board
• Season with lemon zest and sea salt
• Add some preserve, fresh slices of fig, hot honey and walnuts for crunch
• Serve with fresh bread

The result is a board served with butter that looks pretty delicious and is perfect to be served at any gathering.
