With the start of the school year and temperatures going down, we're ready to start swapping out our summer clothes, and as luck would have it, we’ve found THE perfect piece to shop for next season.

A Zara favourite

Spanish brand Zara recently unveiled their new collection. Out of their many fall pieces, one in particular, a short, black, draped faux leather skirt, caught our attention. Not only will it accentuate your curves, but its slightly high waist will make you look slimmer.

How do you style a leather skirt?

Are you worried about the faux leather skirt looking too vulgar or having trouble matching it with any of the clothes you already have in your wardrobe? If you think leather is reserved for people who are into a more punk rock style, think again!

You can easily pair a leather skirt with more preppy pieces, such as a floral blouse or a denim shirt if you want to play with different fabrics. For a more classic but stylish look, you can wear it with a plain shirt and a blazer.

Leather skirts also go well with a pair of moccasins, sneakers, or high-heeled booties.

What not to do

One thing you should avoid when wearing a leather (or faux leather) piece is pairing it with a leopard print, which can look a little trashy.

Also, avoid wearing it with suede or vinyl platform pumps. You can check out the Zara skirt in the video above.
