Harmonie Rose Allen is a 5-year-old American girl. All four of her limbs were amputated when she was only 11 months old because of meningitis. However, her disability does not prevent her from fully enjoying her life.

A gymnast like no other
Harmonie has a hobby: gymnastics. Equipped with her small purple prosthetics, she climbs onto the mat without any fear of going beyond her own limits. This little girl's perseverance and independence are incredible. She has quite simply figured out her own way of learning things.
More under this adMore under this adIn 2014, the little girl had just taken her first steps when doctors announced to her parents that she had contracted the meningitis virus. They were told that Harmonie had the most deadly infection out there and that she had only a 10% chance of survival. Harmonie beat the odds.
Exploring different avenues
Since then, Harmonie has had to learn to live without her four limbs. Last March, she did a half marathon with the help of her teachers but managed to cross the finish line on her own. This girl demonstrates an impressive amount of energy. An example that we should all follow.
