A man from Cumbria claims to have put up 'the most haunted painting in the world' in his home, and strange things have been happening ever since.
Some family heirlooms, which are passed down from one generation to the next, can make you a fortune. Others tend to make your skin crawl. A man from Cumbria has inherited 'the most haunted painting in the world' from his grandmother, and he decided to put it on display inside his home. Keep reading to find out more, if you dare.
This man put a haunted painting up on his wall
Twenty years ago, Sean Robinson inherited several of his grandmother's prized possessions when she passed away, including a very strange painting. The artwork, entitled 'The Anguished Man', depicts a figure, which resembles that of a man, and it appears to be wailing. Sean's grandmother kept the painting hidden away as it made her feel uneasy.
Sean's grandmother reportedly got the painting from an anonymous man, who claimed to have made it using his own blood mixed with some oils before taking his own life when it was complete. He explained:
My grandma always told me the painting was evil - and after living with it myself, I understood how right she was.
Sean shared his story on YouTube
In a series of YouTube videos, Sean Robinson explained all the strange things that have been happening in his home since he put the painting on the wall. For example, he recorded a video which shows a door seemingly slamming on its own. Sean explained on his YouTube channel:
I have witnessed a lot. Noises are the first thing. At first, we didn’t relate them to the painting, but it became obvious they only started when we brought the painting in the house.
Just like his grandmother did before she passed down the painting, Sean started seeing a figure in his bedroom. He also heard crying and moaning.
I used to wake up in the middle of the night and see a figure at the end of my bed. I used to have dreams about the painting. I had a vivid one when I was being lifted off the bed.
Sean Robinson claims all the strange noises and appearances seem to occur between 3 and 4am, which just happens to be the 'witching hour', could it be a coincidence?
