Lyle Menendez is in love: The convicted murderer's new girlfriend is 35 years younger than him

Erik and Lyle Menendez are currently dominating the headlines, just as they did in the early 1990s. For the past thirty years, they have been serving their sentence for the joint murder of their parents in Beverly Hills in 1989. Followed by the release of the Monsters series on Netflix, which portrayed the brothers' story, they are once again receiving the full attention of the media.

The brothers' are hoping to be resentenced

In a recent hearing, the brothers are said to be hoping for a different verdict because, according to Cosmopolitan, new evidence has emerged that could play into the hands of their defence. More importantly, their family members have also been pleading for their release. Joan Anderson VanderMolen, their mother, Kitty's sister, said:

I want them to come home. No child should have to endure what Erik and Lyle lived through

While his father, José Menendez' sister said that 'thirty five years is a long time'.

According to BBC, after examining their case, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón recommended that the brothers to receive a new sentence with a lower penalty—one that would make them eligible for parole immediately. A hearing to decide the same had been set for 11 December, but was postponed to 30 January 2025.

In the meantime, unexpected details have emerged about one of the brothers. According to the Daily Mail, Lyle Menendez has a new girlfriend. She is said to be a 21-year-old British student called Milly Bucksey. As Cosmopolitan reports, they met on Facebook.

New relationship for Lyle Menendez

Lyle Menendez was apparently able to smuggle a cell phone into prison, which he was able to use to communicate on Facebook, Cosmopolitan continues. Apparently, there has even already been a meeting between the new couple, in prison of course.

Given the fact that Lyle Menendez has been married to Rebecca Sneed for 20 years, his relationship with the university student came as a huge surprise to many. That being said, Sneed has clarified any rumours of cheating. She said that the two have been separated for a while. She wrote in a Facebook post:

Guys! This is NOT a cheating scandal. Lyle and I have been separated for a while now but remain best friends and family.

I continue to run his Facebook pages, with input from him, and I am forever committed to the enduring fight for Lyle and Erik’s freedom, as has been so evident over the years.
