More than 300 years ago, a nun is said to have written a letter, allegedly prompted by the Devil. We explain this curious case to you.

Here's a story worthy of a horror film script. In 17th-century Sicily, Isabella Tomasi, who later became Sister Maria Crocifissa della Concezione after entering a convent, is said to have written an indecipherable letter dictated by... Satan! A letter straight out of a horror film

Among this jumble of signs, which borrow from various known alphabets, the computer experts have managed to decipher around fifteen lines talking about God and the Devil, and essentially saying that God is man's invention. In these writings, the sister also notes that this religious system 'wouldn't work for anyone'.

In her letter, Sister Maria also refers to the River Styx, which separates the earthly world from hell, and which, according to her, really does exist. 'Totally incoherent', this text above all highlights the obvious suffering of a woman suffering from a major psychological disorder of the order of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Nonetheless, the letter is rather chilling, and the story sounds strangely like the script for a potential horror film!
