Amber Lynn Gilles, a yoga instructor and photographer, took to Facebook on June 22 to blast a barista for not serving her at a Starbucks in San Diego. She didn't expect what would happen next.

A Facebook post has gone viral after a woman, Amber Lynn Gilles, shared a picture of a young Starbucks barista, Lenin, who refused to serve her because she wasn't wearing her mask. She captioned the picture:

The reactions weren't exactly what she expected. Not only did her post backfire after she shamed the young barista, but it also attracted more than 150,000 comments and 50,000 shares supporting and defending the young Lenin.

Then, the story gets even more heartwarming. Soon enough, Lenin was identified by the Internet and Matt Cowan decided to set a GoFundMe to support Lenin Gutierrez's gesture and tip him.

San Diego County requires residents to wear a mask in most public settings, including when picking up food at a restaurant.

'We can’t expect law enforcement to make sure every person is wearing a face covering. But if you don’t wear one, you can be cited or not allowed into businesses, on transit or in other areas,' the county said.

Starbucks said in a statement:

We want everyone to feel welcome in our stores. We respectfully request customers follow social distancing and safety protocols recommended by public health officials, including wearing a facial covering when visiting our stores.
