A new shocking TikTok trend sees users pretending to have a seizure
More under this adA disturbing trend has emerged on TikTok where users pretend to have a seizure before breaking into dance. What was supposed to be a funny viral moment has instead been met with harsh criticism.
These TikTok videos mostly all start off the same. The user states that they had a seizure and caught it on camera. The camera cuts to the person pretending to have a seizure before breaking into dance. Understandably, this trend has not been met with fits of laughter.

Two particular TikTok stars faced a lot of backlash after their take on the video. The clip started off with a girl crying and a voice-over saying:

While another commenter stated:
Even if it's a trend it's not funny. Loads of people have died by seizures and you're making a joke out of it saying it's a trend.
The uploader, Diego Martir, has since responded to his critics but neglected to remove the video from his profile, stating:

But his simple statement was seen as insensitive by his followers whocontinued to criticise him after the comment:
Bruh people really find ANY way to make ANYTHING offensive. Even if it is a trend it's not funny. Loads of people have died by seizures and your [sic] making a joke out of it saying it's a trend.More under this adMore under this ad
This is not the first time a seizure trend has taken off on TikTok. Last year, an even more controversial version of the trend took off on the platform in the form of the viral 'Lucid Dreams Challenge'. This even more vile version saw TikTok users record a dance to Juice WRLD's song, Lucid Dreams before convulsing in the middle of the song. Added water pouring out of users' mouths made the trend all the more sickening.
The Lucid Dreams challenge reached the height of its popularity in December just before the death of Juice WRLD, who coincidentally died of a seizure after a fatal overdose.
