The stools of six people from different countries and with various dietary habits were analyzed and they all contained plastic. So, researchers concluded that at least half of the world’s population has bits of plastic in their digestive system.
Is seafood to blame?
Although we don’t know exactly where the plastic comes from, it is likely that there’s a connection with the oceans. In reality, 5% of plastic directly ends up in the seas and oceans and is probably then consumed by marine animals. By consuming seafood, humans could then by ingesting plastic.

To limit how much plastic we consume, we should avoid eating too much fish and seafood which is also rich in heavy metals. The less we eat, the better!
