It was an encounter that scarred him for life. While filming a documentary off the coast of Hawaii, a producer saw his boat literally mauled by tiger sharks. According to him, the sharks were not behaving normally.

We tried to get him away, but he just wouldn't listen. It was horrible. That's when the second shark attacked us.

Fortunately, the shore was only 800 meters away, and there were no casualties. But for everyone present, the shock was real, as Toby Nowlan testifies.

They were incredibly hungry, so it's possible that there wasn't enough natural food and they tried everything they could find in the water.
