Ancient coffin with mysterious inscriptions of Egyptian ‘pyramid keeper’ discovered after 3,300 years

Archaeological site of Saqqara Necropolis
In Saqqara Necropolis, a village in Egypt, archaeologists have recently stumbled upon a pink granite sarcophagus of what is believed to be a high-ranking official in ancient times. As per The Sun, the information about this discovery was released by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on the 21st of September.
More under this adMore under this adA sarcophagus is a stone coffin embellished with markings of inscriptions or sculptures. Unfortunately, the one that was discovered had nobody in it. From the condition of the broken lid of the sarcophagus, it is likely that the sarcophagus was disturbed by grave robbers thousands of years ago.

As for the location, this archaeological find was in Saqqara near the pyramid of King Unas. As the archaeologists studied the hieroglyphs embellished into it they uncovered that the Sarcophagus was meant for someone called Ptah-im-wea. According toLive Science, it was made during the reign of Ramesses II.
The inscriptions on the stone coffin also revealed that the ‘high ranking official’ was a keeper of sorts. He was in charge of managing the livestock and looking after the treasury that was used as an offering to the gods. Although the mummy from the coffin is missing, it seems that it played an important role in its time.
