An exceptional cross

The happy parents, a white lion and a white tigress, live at the Myrtle Beach Safari, in South Carolina (USA). These two beautiful animals, named Ivory and Saraswati, had 4 white baby ligers in 2014. Their descendants were the result of a very rare occurrence, since normally, tigers and lions do not mate. Moreover, these animals are becoming more and more rare in nature. Only 1,200 white tigers and 300 white lions remain in the world. There are about 1,000 ligers in the world, but none of them are white. This birth is therefore very good news.

Really cute babies!

The four males were named Yeti, Odlin, Sampson and Apolo and these ligers are real stuffed animals! Ligers are known for their love of swimming and for their sociability. It's a sweet mix between tiger and lion. When they were born back in 2014, they weighed 6 kilos and were gaining half a kilo per day! We can only imagine how big they must've gotten by now.
