A Giant Owl Laid Eggs Outside His Window and Now He Has Some Unexpected Company

In reality, Jos' garden is now the new home to three huge Eurasian eagle owlets and their intimidating mother who can sit and keep watch on her babies for 6-8 hour stretches.
More under this adMore under this adSince the owlets hatched, they have adopted the tendency to join in during Baart's TV time, their peering eyes staring in through the window. In the video above you can clearly see that the young owls have become accustomed to Jos' company and even interact with him. Baart discusses their interactions in the footage:

Their mother, who is a little more cautious watches them from behind a shrub. Jos explained:
She has a good view of the nest from there, she can stay there for six to eight hours at a stretch.
The Guinness World Records considers the Eurasian eagle-owl or Bubo bubo as it's also known, as the largest owl in the world having a wingspan of over 1.5 metres. They have no known natrual predators and have been said to live up to 20 years in the wild. In captivity birds of the same species have even aged well into their 60's.
