Nostradamus’ predictions that came true in 2022, centuries later

A book of interpretations written by French astrologer, Nostradamus containing supposed prophesies that have come to pass, has been selling fast since the passing of the Queen in September. Wondering what this book has to do with her death? Well, it is believed that the seer had predicted it centuries ago, along with other events that have since come to pass.

The Queen’s death prophesied

The week prior to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 08, the book, Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies for the Future, by Mario Reading, had sold barely five copies, The Times reported. Fast-forward to the week ending on September 17 and the same book had topped the general paperbacks chart after selling almost 8,000 copies. Published in 2006, the book is an ‘interpretation’ of the writings of the French seer Nostradamus’ most famous book, Les Prophéties, that supposedly predict events including the exact age at which the late monarch would die, according to Reading.

Of global warming and inflation

Another correlation between the 1555 book and the world we live in today has to do with inflation. According to Reading, Nostradamus, who passed away some 450 years ago predicted that the world see rising prices in a failing economy, which, many countries are reeling under. The prediction was deduced from one of the 942 poetic quatrains that the seer wrote:

No abbots, monks, no novices to learn;

Honey shall cost far more than candle-wax

So high the price of wheat,

That man is stirred

His fellow man to eat in his despair

Nostradamus also predicted that temperatures would reach their breaking point this year as global warming takes its toll.

Half-starved shall be

The local folk to cut them up shall toil.
