Winter Love Island: Maya Jama could be a rule-breaker after giving contestants this advice

Winter Love Island started yesterday and so begins the journey of investing our time and energy in the ‘finding love’ journey of ten sexy singletons. Maya Jama sizzled in her debut episode and welcomed the contestants to the villa.

Interfering Maya

As a presenter, Love Island’s host has to remain neutral towards the contestants and just present facts. The fact that the presenter cannot interfere in villa relationships and events was one of the major reasons Laura Whitmore decided to quit.

According to The Sun, Maya Jama wants to do that too. She recently confessed that remaining impartial or not getting involved in the villa dynamic might be a challenging task for her. Maya confessed:

I’ve been a fan of the show pretty much since it started. I know everything about it.

She added:

My role is to deliver information and facts but, because I love it so much, I just want to be their best mate and be like, ‘Are you sure you really like that guy?’

I’ll be as involved as I can.

Maya’s warning

Maya even lived up to her promise and gave singletons her personal advice in just the first episode of the show. She openly referred to her struggles in finding love and advised the contestants, reported The Sun.

Minutes into the show she told the contestants:

Don't forget finding your perfect match is never that simple, trust me I know.

During a recent interview, she also suggested people avoid getting intimate before forming a bond. She said:

Get to know someone as much as you can before you get intimate.

If you just suss someone out before the romantic stuff comes in, usually it lasts longer, from my experience.
