Tony Bellew: The I’m A Celeb runner up reveals what he feels about Sam Thompson winning the show

Tony Bellew entered the jungle as a wildcard campmate with Frankie Dettori. The former boxer ended up winning millions of hearts by his resilience and good entertainment on TV. Sam Thompson may have won the show, Tony Bellew’s fan base is equally strong - if not more.

Although, like every other campmate, Tony Bellew also announced Sam Thompson as the king of the jungle. Here’s what he has to say after securing the second place on the show.

Tony Bellew went on to share that Sam Thompson was a ‘well deserved’ winner of the show as he broke his social media silence. Taking to X, he wrote:

Just wanna say thank you to everyone who voted for me on @imacelebrity! Made up for @SamThompsonUK he deserved to win it he really did as he’s a great lad.

He added:

Went in there and refused to give up and just remained true to myself! Thanks for a boss experience!

This comes after the boxer-turned-actor revealed on Good Morning Britain that he had been ‘going through a lot’ before the show as his ‘beautiful nan’ died. According to Express.co.uk, Tony also felt like his time in the jungle was hard for him as he missed his son’s birthday. He said:

On top of that I missed my son's birthday which I promised him after I retired I'd never do that again, and I did.

He then went on to appreciate his ‘amazing’ campmates and added that he ‘will never quit no matter how hard it gets, and I'm not going to lie it gets hard in there.’ Talking about the moment his wife came to the jungle to surprise him, he revealed he wanted to ‘walk out and leave with her.’ He said:

It broke my heart to leave her.
