This Team GB Olympic star just joined the Dancing On Ice 2022 line-up

The latest member of theDancing On Ice 2022 line-up has been revealed as Team GB Olympic BMX star Kye Whyte. Nicknamed the Prince of Peckham, Kye picked up a historic silver medal in Tokyo this summer—Team GB’s first Olympic medal for BMX. Now, he’s got his eyes on another prize as he’s hoping to win Dancing On Ice 2022.

Speaking to CBBC’s Newsround following the announcement, Kye said:
When I did the audition I kind of related it to roller-skating so I think I did pretty well… I think the thing I’m really confident about is I don’t really mind if I fall, I’m quite fearless... The picking up and stuff I’m not too worried about. As long as I do my gym properly I should be alright. It’s the routines – I’m very forgetful! So, yeah, that’s what I’m a bit wary of.More under this adMore under this ad
Dancing On Ice 2022 line-up
While Kye reckons he was the last to be selected for the line-up just a few weeks ago, three more names are expected to be revealed. The Dancing On Ice line-up usually features 12 celebs—each paired with a professional ice dancer. So far, nine names have been officially announced for the upcoming series, including Kye.
The other celebs set to take to the ice in January 2022 are Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor, Love Island’s Liberty Poole, Bez from the Happy Mondays, ex-Strictly dancer Brendan Cole, rugby player Ben Foden, Paralympian Stef Reid, S Club singer Rachel Stevens and Paul Gascoigne’s dancer son Regan Gascoigne.

The next series of Dancing On Ice is set to start airing in January 2022, hosted by Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill and Ashley Banjo are all expected to return as judges, although John Barrowman will not. Rumour has it he could be replaced on the panel by ex-Strictly judge Dame Arlene Phillips.
