Charlie Wernham has made quite an impression since joining EastEnders last week. He’s playing Aaron Monroe—the brother of Dana and son of cabbie Harvey. After talking a big game about his hot-shot City job, Tuesday’s episode saw him washing blood off his hands and texting ‘It’s done’ to a mystery recipient after ditching Tiffany halfway through their date for the second time running. What has Charlie Wernham been in before?
Charlie first rose to fame as a stand-up comedian on the second series of Britain’s Got Talent way back in 2008. He was just 13 at the time and made it through to the semi-finals after impressing the judges with his jokes. After that, he joined the Sylvia Young Theatre School and shifted his focus towards acting.

As well as comedy, Charlie also has some solid soap experience. He previously played troublemaker Robbie Roscoe on Hollyoaks between 2013 and 2016. Funnily enough, Robbie’s mum Sandy was played by none other than Gillian Taylforth—aka EastEnders’ Kathy Beale!

Now, Charlie seems to be delighted to have joined the BBC soap. He said of his new role:
It was always a childhood dream of mine to be in EastEnders. It’s a show that’s constantly on TV in my household as my family are massive fans so it’s always been close to my heart. I can’t wait to get cracking and join an incredibly talented cast!
