Love Island: Host Caroline Flack Quits, Releases Emotional Statement

It's official, the upcoming series of Winter Love Island will not be presented by Caroline Flack. The 40-year-old presenter has stepped down from her hosting duties after she was arrested and charged with assault by beating last week.

After Metropolitan Police confirmed that Caroline was going to be called before the Magistrates Court on 23rd December, many fans worried that the new series of Love Island - due to kick off on 8th January - would be thrown into jeopardy. It now seems that Caroline will be replaced.
More under this adMore under this adAddressing her fans on Instagram, Caroline wrote: 'There have been a significant number of media reports and allegations in regards to my personal life. While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to co-operating with the appropriate authorities and I can't comment further on these matters until the legal process is over.'
She continued: 'However, Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly. In order to not distract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for Series 6. I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.'
