Love Island Homophobia? Paige Turley Under Fire For Social Media Slur

She’s probably the most popular female contestant on the very first winter edition of Love Island 2020, and she’s had people talking about her from the minute her teaser video was released before the first episode.

Since the get-go, her claim to fame has been her relationship with Scotland’s most popular singer at the moment Lewis Capaldi.According to her, they dated off and on for about a year when she was 17 and remain pals to this day.

She even famously auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent back in 2012, performing the song Skinny Love by Bon Iver. The judges were so impressed that she netted, in the words of Simon Cowell, ‘4 big fat yeses’.
Since then, she’s laid relatively low up until her debut on Love Island this year. Fans fell in love with her when she showed up in the villa, however, things may change for her after this Instagram story from June resurfaced this week of her using a homophobic slur.
More under this adMore under this adTurley shared an IG video of her brother Marc holidaying in Dubai last year. On the recording, she left the caption: “Uuuuuft who’s that big Harry hoofter on the cocktails??” She even left a pride flag on the post.
For those who don’t know, a harry hoofter is rhyming slang for poofter, which of course is a homophobic slur.
Fans on Twitter have been calling the Love Island contestant out as well as shouting out ITV2 to get answers.
