I'm A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec urge show bosses to make a major change to the line up next year

I’m A Celeb 2023 is into its final week and the first elimination will air tonight. The lineup this year has been really great and fans are appreciating the show from trials to conversations. However, the ratings have taken a dip this year and ex UKIP leader Nigel Farage has been blamed for it as many viewers were against having him on the show.

I'm A Celeb has faced huge backlash in the past two series for signing up controversial politicians Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage for the show. When Nigel Farage revealed his intentions of going on the show this year, many viewers didn’t want to see him on the show because of his comments in the past on issues like immigration and Brexit.

This is not the first time that ITV bosses have added politicians to the mix on the show, but previously they have picked ex-political figures who had no intentions of getting back into politics. With Matt Hancock last year and Nigel Farage this year - the two men actively involved politics - the show has received severe backlash from the viewers,

Many I’m A Celeb fans shared that they would not watch the series if Nigel Farage is on the show and they have stayed true to their word, confirmed TheMirror. The ratings of the show have gone down to two million this year and 'the Farage factor' is said to be a big part of that.

In a live chat with fans over the weekend a fan said the show bosses should get Rishi Sunak for next year and Ant said ‘see you next year.’ However, Dec immediately interrupted and said:

I think we should do a year without any politicians.

Ant added:

AGREED! Agreed.

And Dec then said:

Let's put that motion through shall we?

Ant and Dec are understood to advise show bosses on who should be added to the lineup as they have been a part of the show for so long. Their say in the lineup is often great advice for the show bosses. As such, the next year jungle adventure may actually be produced without any active political figures.
