Faster timeline

House of the Dragon has adopted a distinctive format as opposed to GoT. With just the first few episodes out, the viewers already see a time jump that spreads the show across so many years. This makes it more interesting. And gives an account of a larger timeline, which reduces the monotony as opposed to GoT, which dragged one small journey over multiple episodes.

Greater visuals

The show’s CGI game is on-point. Unsurprisingly, House of the Dragon has a bigger budget and a better production value than GoT did when it started out. And with time and innovation, technology is also in favor of House of the Dragon. As per CBR, the dragon’s CGI is much cleaner, and it tops off the extra vibrancy that the landscapes and locations possess.

More grounded narrative

The show looks into family drama and the politics of succession way more thanGoT did. The storylines are more relatable, grounded and with more human characters. It focuses on one family and their closest allies, as opposed to GoT which introduced a whole bunch of new characters in every episode. Overall, it follows a more straightforward storyline.

A fresh start

GoT had a somewhat anti-climatic ending, leaving its fans thoroughly disappointed. While House of the Dragon cannot right its wrongs as it is set many years prior to GoT’s events, it offers a clean slate. This gives the franchise a better image, with the prospect of pleasing its audiences again.
