Denise Van Outen reveals there was ‘a lot of tension’ on set of EastEnders

Speaking to The Sun, Denise revealed working on the BBC soapwasn’t a positive experience. She said:

Everyone I met on EastEnders would just moan about it, just whinging about everything. The day I arrived, and I'm quite a bubbly person, I was like 'hi!' and they were like 'oh, you’re going to hate this'. I was like, 'oh really?'
Admitting that she doesn’t know what the atmosphere on set is like now,Denisecontinued:
I don't want to disrespect any of the actors from EastEnders because they do an amazing job, but I think perhaps, there's a lot they have to get through. They're very focused and I just thought I would have more fun.More under this adMore under this ad

Denise Van Outen has had a long and varied career, starring on stage, screen and radio. She became well-known as the host of The Big Breakfast morning TV show and has played the lead role of Roxie Hartin Chicago in both the West End and on Broadway. She’s also appeared on a number of reality shows from Strictly Come Dancing to Celebrity Gogglebox.
