It is constant that the couple is portrayed as the people hurting their family members. Whether it’s about making the Princess of Wales cry or, now, about ‘snubbing’ King Charles and declining to attend his birthday party, the villainising never stops.

Prince Harry and Meghan snub King Charles
On 5 October The Sunday Times reported that Prince Harry was not going to attend the gathering King Charles is organising for his birthday on 14 November. According to The Sun, a ‘friend of King Charles’ spoke to the newspaper and said:

But that doesn’t change the King’s love for his son. He’ll never not invite his son to a family gathering, because that’s not who he is.
It is then understood that Prince Harry had no plan of visiting the UK, therefore declining his father’s invitation.
Prince Harry and Meghan respond
But, on Monday 6 October, there was a plot twist. The Sussexes addressed The Sunday Times directly when a spokesperson reportedly told the Daily Mail:

This new statement would mean that the narrative leading people to think that King Charles was snubbed is wrong and that King Charles may be doing the snubbing himself.

In short, Prince Harry attending his father's party is more than unlikely. Indeed, the rumours and the fact that the Sussexes allegedly responded indicate that the ‘feud’ between members of the Royal Family is still truly alive. Moreover, these new rumours carried by a ‘friend of King Charles’ talking to The Sunday Times could likely be perceived as the Firm planting a story.
Indeed, let’s not forget that this new story which paints the Sussexes as mean and hurtful is coming out after Byline Times has released the results of its investigation which allege that the Palace or at least ‘an aide to Prince William’ was paid to provide stories to The Sun about Prince Harry and Meghan.

However, in light of these new rumours, it seems like this plan to make the Sussexes return is not going to work but instead drive them further away.
