The Queen's worrying health announcement leaves public 'deeply concerned'

The Queen took a break from her Summer Holiday at Balmoral to appoint Liz Truss as the new Prime Minister and as the 15th Prime Minister under her 70-year reign. While she appeared well and not too heavily reliant on her cane, Buckingham Palace released a statement earlier today that has sparked significant health concerns for Her Majesty. The Statement read:

Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.

Deep concerns of the new PM

After the Buckingham palace statement, the Royal Family members are seen reaching Balmoral to be by the Queen. Princess Anne is already at Balmoral, while Prince Andrew and Edward are on their way to the Scotland royal estate. All her children and grandchildren are either with her or on their way to her.

Well-wishers have gathered outside Balmoral Castle and there are speculations that something serious is going on with the Queen. Amidst this, Liz Truss – the new Prime Minister – has also tweeted about her and the country’s deep concern regarding her Majesty’s deteriorating health. She said on Twitter:

The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.

My thoughts - and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.

Shaken Westminster

Not only is the PM concerned about the ongoing health situation with the Queen, but reportedly, but the House of Commons also had 'faces full of concern.' The tenor and tone and facial expression that circulated in the room were evidently speaking out loud how deeply concerned the entire Westminster is for the Queen’s health. Chris Mason wrote, according to BBC:

There were notes being handed around, the prime minister was briefed, as were the leader of the opposition and the speaker - and people shortly after that left the chamber.

You could tell from the tenor and tone and facial expressions the concern that there is here in Westminster about the Queen’s health.

The overriding impression at Westminster during lunchtime today is similar to what it is around the country – one of deep concern for the Queen.
